Branch Bench
Design, Fabrication
2011

A bench plus a piece of Ironbark plus a branch.
Ironbark is a very dense and heavy hardwood and the single offcut (from a tree that fell on a friend’s property in Townsville) helps stabilise the base.
The branch has an important job: to prevent the main joints at the base from flexing too far and beaking.
The branch is also removable via two pins below the surface of the bench to ease transportation.
